THE CHALLENGE
edaphon, a global investment firm focused on sustainable and scalable technologies, engaged Adept Technology to conduct a Technical Due Diligence (TDD) on SwarmFarm Robotics, an Australian AgTech company specialising in autonomous agricultural machinery.
At the time of engagement, Edaphon had entered into an exclusive term sheet with SwarmFarm as lead investor for its Series B funding round. The TDD was commissioned to independently assess SwarmFarm’s autonomous tractor platform and manufacturing operations, mitigating technical and operational risk ahead of investment.
THE ACTION
Objectives
The Technical Due Diligence was designed to provide Edaphon and its stakeholders with clear, evidence-based insights to support an informed investment decision. The core objectives were to:
· Assess SwarmFarm’s manufacturing capability, scalability, and production readiness
· Evaluate the quality, reliability, and maturity of the autonomous robotics platform
· Identify technical, operational, safety, and compliance risks
· Provide actionable recommendations to mitigate identified risks
· Support transparency and confidence during the Series B investment process
THE OUTCOME
The Technical Due Diligence concluded that SwarmFarm’s technical strengths and opportunities outweigh its risks, particularly when benchmarked against comparable AgTech companies at a similar funding stage.
